Practicing your English with Volunteering

If you want to practice your English abroad, in an English speaking country, you might consider doing some Volunteer work. It is a great opportunity to improve your English by speaking to local native speakers, and at the same time doing some good for the community. And you don’t have to spend lots of money on languages schools, with lots of Brazilian people around, speaking Portuguese.

I want to share with you this amazing experience I had in Eastbourne, in the UK, while I was on vacation with my family. I got a volunteer job at a charity organization called Compass Community Arts which helps disable people through Art work. My job consisted in helping them with the organization of their painting stuff, but also, and mostly important, with chatting while they were painting. That was amazing, and very powerful moment for me, and hopefully for them too.

However, this kind of experience is only available for those students who already speak at least intermediate English. It’s also good to remind you that Volunteering work goes very well in your CV…many big companies appreciate this kind of attitude.

Have a look some of the pictures.
